Dr. Peng has been nominated for the Blavatnik Award

Dr. Hao Peng has been selected to be one of the Rutgers nominees for the regional postdoctoral competition of the Blavatnik Award for Young Scientists. We are pleased that his scholarly credentials are recognized by the Rutgers committee. Congratulation Dr. Peng! We are proud of you.

Professor Bai received two awards

Professor Bai received two awards — we are grateful to these recognitions, inspirations, and generous support! Professor Bai has received the Texas A&M Outstanding Young Aerospace Engineer award. This award recognizes Alumni under the age of 40 who have exhibited outstanding work in the field of Aerospace Engineering. Professor Bai has also just received the 2018 A. Group Lunch to Celebrate a Productive Year

Today, we had our group lunch meeting to celebrate a productive year. We have 12 journal articles published this year. In addition, we have 6 journals currently under review or under revision.

Formation Flying Workshop at University of Colorado, Boulder

Dr. Hao Peng presented a paper coauthored with Dr. Xiaoli Bai, “New Natural Formation Flying Configurations in the Earth-Moon Elliptic Three-body system”, at the 9th International Workshop on Satellite Constellations and Formation Flying, University of Colorado, July 2017.

Students Team Won the Best Overall Project

The senior design project Dr. Bai advised this year received the Best Overall Project Award among 44 projects in the department. The goal of the project is to develop a UAV system that is capable of detecting and utilizing thermals in the air to increase the aircraft’s efficiency, particularly to extend its flight duration.

UAV Student Award Symposium

Dr. Bai organized the Rutgers undergraduate student UAV award symposium on April 7, 2017. 14 teams won prize money and the 4 teams that won the first and second prizes delivered presentations. Students are showing off their checks in the picture :D
